Long ago, I was on my first real tour of wineries out in Sonoma.  This was in 1980, and it was the first time I ever had a Gewurztraminer.  I liked it then; I like it now.  Last week my local wine store was pouring this Alder Fels example and it brought me back to that day.

This is the latest incarnation of a long line of Gewutzraminer award-winning vintages from Alder Fels.  A wonderful nose, with the aroma of peaches carrying over into the flavors and a long, creamy finish to complete the reward of this wine.  Recommended to us for our Thanksgiving meal as well as for spicy oriental foods.

Alder Fels was founded in 1979 to focus on white wines.  They have built a top-notch reputation as a producer of excellent wines, particularly for Gewurtraminer and Sauvignon Blanc.
