Comment:

Bonny Doon is a winery with a unique attitude.  Randall Grahm, the owner and guiding light of that attitude, has brought an amazing collection of thought and expertise to the making of wine, beginning in Pinot Noir, flowing into the planting of Rhone varietals in the 1980s, and sailing on to new vineyards of Italian varietals.

The 2004 Vin Gris de Cigare is dry, very dry, bone dry.  Despite all that, this Rhone-style rose is pleasant to drink, with delicate hints of berries and melons to refresh your palate and subtle aromas of new roses in bloom to make you smile.  If you are like me and never particularly cared for pink wines, this one will change your mind in a hurry.

This should be a great Summer back-deck wine, food friendly as well as good for sipping with friends.  Note that this is one of the new wave of screw-cap wines and may not work for you if you want only wine with corks -- but be prepared to change your mind if you taste it.

Take a look at the Bonny Doon site to see some of the attitude.  Humor doesn't work the same for everyone, but I liked this.
