Comment:

This is a wine for drinking now, on one of the sunny days of Spring. 

The Riesling has the apple and spice flavors that can make it my wine of choice for relaxing and watching the day go by.  If you are starting to feel that Anything But Chardonnay is an idea with merit, try kicking back with a bit of this in your glass.

Atwater Estate Vineyard  was founded in 1999 by Ted Marks and Phil Hazlitt, who formed a partnership to buy the old Rolling Vineyards Winery, one of New York's first Farm Wineries.  Right down the road from the Hazlitt 1852 Winery of Phil's family, the tasting room and deck of Atwater look directly out on the wonder of Seneca Lake.  We were there on a gorgeous summer day, enjoying the view as we sipped their wine.  We recommend stopping in if you can.
