Big, red and dry -- this is a wine for the traditional American steak.  The wine needs some time, though.  It is tannic, and will improve as time softens the edges and the wine gains depth.  Probably best in 2007-2008.

This wine was a pleasant surprise discovered on a trip to the New Jersey shore.  About halfway from Philadelphia to Atlantic City, Bellview Winery rewarded us with a nice tasting room, a good wine list, and informed guidance as we sipped.

Bellview is owned by the Quarellas who, like many other farm families, have turned to grapes and wine as a way to maintain their farming lifestyle in a changing world.  With the current state of wine shipping laws, you will not be able to have this sent to you, but we would recommend a stop.
